SELF CONTAINMENT REQUIREMENTS
June 2023 Update
Please be aware, as of June 2023 the Self-contained Motor Vehicles Legislation Act is law. Vehicles with a portable toilet are no longer able to be certified self-contained. More information from MBIE can be found here.
Minimum Requirements

Tank for drinking water. (12 litres for each person)

Non-toxic fresh water supply hose that is opaque or coloured.

Sink.

Grey water tank with a vent (12 litres per person)

3 metre evacuation hose (If the grey water tank is fixed in place).

Rubbish bin with a lid.

Toilet (permanently fixed) that can be used inside the vehicle at all times, including when the bed is fully assembled. Minimum of 3 litres of capacity per person
